Ilorin: Mr. Feyisayo Ayeni, the former Coordinator of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) in Kwara, has urged the organisation’s workforce to focus on developing their capacity to ensure effective service delivery. Ayeni delivered this message during his valedictory speech at a reception organized by SON staff members in his honor.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ayeni, who has recently been promoted to Deputy Director, has been reassigned to the organisation’s Training Department in Lagos State. During his farewell address, he expressed gratitude to the Kwara staff for their support, emphasizing that his achievements as state coordinator were made possible by their dedication and hard work.
Ayeni highlighted that the Kwara SON Office has produced three coordinators and team leaders in other locations, attributing these accomplishments to the hard work of the staff. In her welcome address, Hajia Abiola Bayero, Chief Standards Officer and Head of Unit, Food Codex, praised the remarkable growth of the Kwara SON Office under Ayeni’s leadership. She noted that a record number of 86 products were certified during his tenure, an achievement she deemed worthy of celebration.
Bayero commended Ayeni for exemplifying professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to quality assurance, standards enforcement, and consumer protection throughout his tenure. She acknowledged his leadership in fostering teamwork within the office and strengthening relationships with stakeholders across Kwara State.
The new Kwara Coordinator of SON, Mr. AbdulRazaq Oyewopo, also praised Ayeni for his contributions to the development of the organisation. Oyewopo described Ayeni as hardworking and dedicated to achieving the mandate and policy thrust of SON.
