Lagos: Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo, says the party is confident of reclaiming power in the state in the 2027 governorship election. Alli stated this after leading a delegation of APC leaders and Senatorial candidates from Oyo State on a thank you/introductory visit to President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence. He expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the election, citing the support of President Tinubu, party leaders, and grassroots supporters across the state.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Alli is assured that by May 29, 2027, APC will reclaim government in Oyo State. He plans to rely on his integrity, competence, experience, and capacity to mobilize support across the state. The calibre of leaders within the party, including senators, former deputy governors, and other stakeholders, is expected to strengthen the APC’s chances at the polls. xercise, emphasizing the need for unity within the party.
Chief Moses Adeyemo, Oyo APC Chairman and former deputy governor, reiterated the party’s strong position to regain power in the state in 2027. The delegation’s visit to Tinubu was to brief him on the outcome of the party’s governorship primary and preparations for the election. Adeyemo highlighted Tinubu’s happiness and assurance of support as the party works towards the 2027 governorship election. He expressed confidence in Alli’s candidature, describing him as a strong contender with the capacity to lead the state. The APC is focused on strengthening its structures and mobilizing support across Oyo State ahead of the election.
