Post: Oyo State Governorship Aspirant Promises Transformative Changes Under ADC

Ibadan: A governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Mr. Niyi Aborisade, has expressed confidence that the state will witness positive changes if the party assumes governance in 2027. Aborisade made this declaration during the unveiling of the ADC in the Oyo Central Senatorial District held in Ibadan.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Aborisade stated that if given the opportunity, he would focus on improving critical areas where the current government has not met expectations. He emphasized plans for free education and healthcare, promising significant improvements across various sectors. Aborisade assured that the ADC would uplift the standard of living for the masses if elected.

He encouraged party members to maintain unity and resist any attempts to destabilize the party within the state. Addressing rumors about Governor Seyi Makinde’s potential defection to the ADC, Aborisade noted that while Makinde has the right to switch parties, it should be done through proper channels.

The ADC Chairman in Oyo State, Alhaji Yinka Olona, highlighted the party’s formation as a coalition aimed at alleviating the masses’ hardships. Olona stressed that obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and voting for ADC candidates in 2027 is crucial for enjoying the dividends of democracy. He mentioned that leaders like Atiku, Amaechi, Babaji Lawal, and El-Rufai came together to establish this coalition to rescue Nigerians from ongoing challenges.

Olona urged citizens to collect their voter cards, emphasizing it as the sole means for enacting positive change in the country. He also called for party members to remain steadfast and avoid disunity. Olona concluded by stating that the ADC’s goal is to reposition the country appropriately, beyond just winning the upcoming elections.
