Kafanchan: The Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, emphasized that the ongoing peace in Southern Kaduna is contingent upon unity and proactive community support for security operations. Musa made these remarks on Saturday during the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST) 2026.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Musa highlighted that while security forces are making considerable advances, enduring peace can only be achieved through a collaborative effort between the local communities and the Armed Forces. He stated, “The Armed Forces and other security agencies cannot do it alone. We need the cooperation of the communities. When the people support us, success is assured.” The minister called on residents to remain vigilant and report any individuals aiding criminal activities.
Musa also commended President Bola Tinubu for his decisive actions addressing national challenges. He acknowledged that the reforms might initially pose difficulties but would ultimately lead to positive outcomes. “What we are going through is a process that will make us stronger as a nation. Nigerians should remain patient and continue to support government efforts,” he remarked.
Honoured at the festival, Musa pledged to intensify his dedication to national service. “Expect more work, more commitment, and more dedication. Our goal remains a safer, peaceful, and better Nigeria,” he asserted. He expressed appreciation for the Southern Kaduna Grand Commander (SKGC) award conferred on him, seeing it as both an honor and a call to greater service. Musa emphasized that the recognition was a testament to collective efforts rather than individual achievements.
“I am deeply humbled and profoundly honoured to be counted among the recipients of this prestigious award. I receive it with gratitude, humility, and a renewed commitment to service,” he said. He added that the award symbolizes the collective vision, shared sacrifice, and sustained collaboration of all committed individuals in Southern Kaduna.
