Post: Prophet El-Buba Backs SDP’s Adebayo for 2027 Presidential Election

Abuja: Prophet Isa El-Buba, Convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria, has declared his support for Prince Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential hopeful, ahead of the 2027 general elections. He made this announcement in a statement on Wednesday, while congratulating the SDP on its peaceful and successful national convention.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the cleric cautioned against any attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state, emphasizing that democratic plurality is essential for national stability. He noted that Nigeria’s vast human and natural resources have not translated into improved living conditions for its citizens, citing issues such as rising insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and social injustice. El-Buba pointed out that successive leadership failures have continued to deny young people opportunities for education, empowerment, and economic prosperity.

‘Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources, intelligent people and great potential, yet millions still suffer from insecurity, unemployment, poverty and injustice,’ he stated. El-Buba emphasized the need for urgent collective action to redirect the nation’s development path, stressing that now is the time to unite and rewrite history. He warned that attempts to weaken political competition could undermine democracy, insisting that justice and equity are non-negotiable for peace and national cohesion.

The cleric declared his support for Adebayo, adding that members of his movement would mobilize ahead of the 2027 presidential election. He urged Nigerians seeking national renewal to support leaders committed to rebuilding trust and restoring national values. El-Buba also condemned vote-buying and political inducement, noting that Nigerians are increasingly resistant to such practices.

‘Nobody will buy the conscience of Nigeria with money or a bag of rice. Nigerians are tired, and it is time to recover the glory of our country,’ he asserted. Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, El-Buba described the current period as a moment of ‘national rebirth’ and a renewed search for purposeful leadership.
