Keffi: Mr Tunde Rahman, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, has advocated for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, citing the administration’s tangible achievements as the basis for another term. Rahman made this statement in Keffi while addressing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Presidential Media Team after they concluded a five-day inspection of government projects in Benue and Nasarawa states.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the inspection tour, led by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, commenced on August 5 and focused on a range of infrastructure projects. The team observed several iconic road projects, healthcare interventions, and bridges implemented by both the Federal and state governments, which Rahman described as the benefits of reforms initiated by President Tinubu. He emphasized that the initial challenges posed by the reforms have transitioned into apparent benefits for the populace.
Rahman critiqued opposition claims that President Tinubu has achieved little, urging the public to evaluate the administration based on visible accomplishments. He noted that the governors of Nasarawa and Benue acknowledged the Federal Government’s reforms, which have reportedly provided them with more fiscal space to execute state projects. Rahman urged Nigerians to consider Tinubu’s achievements when casting their votes, asserting that the President deserves another term to continue his work.
NAN’s report detailed significant projects such as the reconstructed Abuja-Makurdi Highway, which enhances traffic flow and connectivity between the Federal Capital Territory and the South-East. Additionally, the ongoing Katsina-Ala River Bridge in Benue promises safer transportation and expanded economic opportunities. The Taraku Mill revival, dormant for nearly four decades, is expected to process agricultural produce and create thousands of jobs, while the Otobi Water Works and Treatment Plant highlights efforts to restore essential services.
In Nasarawa State, the N16 billion Shandam Road and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange are set to ease traffic and stimulate commercial activities. The Total Flyover in Keffi, constructed by the Federal Government, addresses a historically dangerous intersection, improving safety and streamlining traffic. The Maraba Bridge aims to reduce congestion and support economic activities along the corridor.
NAN also highlights the emergence of lithium processing factories in Nasarawa, marking significant investments in mineral value addition. The Keffi-Nasarawa-Toto-Abaji Road and the dualisation of the Keffi-Karu-Abuja corridor exemplify infrastructure expansion efforts, enhancing regional connectivity and commerce between Nasarawa and the Federal Capital Territory.
