Abuja: The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has vowed to eradicate poverty and insecurity in Nigeria if elected in the 2027 presidential election. Adebayo made this commitment during the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Personality Interview Series on Sunday in Abuja, where he expressed gratitude to the SDP for entrusting him with the leadership role in addressing these critical national issues.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adebayo emphasized that the SDP has chosen him to lead the battle against poverty and insecurity, which he identified as the primary challenges facing the country. He underscored his responsibility to communicate the party’s mission and ensure Nigerians understand that the SDP is committed to resolving these issues. Adebayo clarified that his campaign is not against other politicians but against the enduring problems that have hindered Nigeria’s progress.
Adebayo highlighted the various challenges plaguing Nigeria, including pervasive pove
rty, insecurity, inadequate economic management, unemployment, insufficient electricity, and the high cost of education. He asserted that the SDP is fully prepared for the 2027 election, with a manifesto titled “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” aimed at garnering national support for their solutions.
He further stated that his campaign is focused on addressing systemic issues rather than competing with other candidates. Adebayo believes that effective communication of the SDP’s solutions will earn the trust of Nigerians, showcasing the party’s competence, character, and integrity. He also emphasized the importance of preparing the electorate to take ownership of the country’s democratic process.
Adebayo revealed that the SDP’s manifesto would be disseminated across 16,874 polling units nationwide, translated into 15 languages, and made available in print, audio, and visual formats. He recalled that Nigerians had previously supported the manifesto during the June 12, 1993 election and noted that it had b
een updated to address contemporary needs.
Lastly, Adebayo asserted that the SDP is a national party formed by and for Nigerians, with the potential to solve the country’s pressing problems if given the opportunity to govern.
