Abuja: Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe has received the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Distinguished Service Award of Excellence in Service. The award ceremony took place at the Women Development Center in Umuahia.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the statement released by Mrs. Ijeoma Okere, a Fellow of the Institute and National Treasurer of NIM, highlighted that the award was presented to a representative of Abaribe by the President and Chairman of the Council of the Institute, Commodore Abimbola Ayuba. Abaribe was recognized for his performance and commitment in the Legislative Chamber.
Okere noted that Abaribe was nominated for the award due to his consistent performance in leadership roles within both the executive and legislative branches of government. She emphasized that the NIM selects individuals who have demonstrated exemplary performance in governance, and she was among those who nominated him for the award. She praised Abaribe for his dedication to truth and the interests of Nigerians, aligning with the core values of NIM.
Commodore Ayuba, during his remarks, applauded Abaribe’s service record in the legislative chamber and reiterated the Institute’s mission to promote excellence, professionalism, and integrity in public service.
In response, Abaribe expressed his gratitude for the honor, acknowledging NIM’s role in promoting leadership excellence in Nigeria, particularly in the South-East. Represented by Dr. Ngozi Nwagbara, Abaribe pledged continued support for the Institute’s programs, emphasizing the importance of fostering excellence in leadership at all levels.
The event was attended by top management of the Institute, including Mrs. Taiwo Olusesi, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NIM, along with notable personalities such as Chief Sam Onugbo, a former House Representative member, Mr. Johnson Chukwu, Prof. Vincent Onodugo, who was the keynote speaker, and Prof. Ezeudo Ifenwanta, among others.
