Abuja: Sensational comedians Seyi Law and Oni Lukuman-Olanrewaju, popularly known as Ambassador Waahala, along with Funny Razaq and Wale Baba, are set to captivate audiences at the 2026 annual comedy festival in Abuja. Ambassador Waahala, who serves as the host of this annual comedy fiesta, announced in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the event is scheduled for September 20, under the theme ‘The Pensioner’.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ambassador Waahala, who is a popular On-air personality and event anchor, mentioned that other artists scheduled to perform include Aboki for Christ and Waffy, among others. The event promises to be an evening filled with music, comedy, and games, featuring performances by Rugged Man, Sugar Boy, and other singers. A top Nigerian female musician is also expected to make a surprise appearance.
“This is an annual Abuja show, and this year’s edition will be an unforgettable evening of laughter and fun,” Ambassador Waahala stated. He emphasized that the event aims to provide premium entertainment as some of Nigeria’s finest artists entertain the Abuja audience on September 20 at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. This year’s edition, known as ‘September to Remember’, will focus on family bonding and audience participation, with families engaging in dancing and games competitions.
Ambassador Waahala highlighted that family games would be a significant part of this year’s event. Activities such as ‘gele tying’, drinking, eating, and tie-knotting competitions will be featured. Beyond entertainment, the event serves as an empowerment platform, offering participants the chance to win prizes such as refrigerators, microwaves, and bags of rice. “You can walk in just for fun and go home a winner. When you hear people call me the ‘King of Giveaway’, they are not making any mistake,” Waahala noted.
To promote bonding among couples, spouses will answer questions about each other, including details such as shoe and clothing sizes. Children aged 15 and below can participate in family games with their parents, while those aged 16 and above will require individual tickets. Unlike previous editions, regular tickets will be sold at the venue, while table tickets will be available through authorized sponsors. These changes aim to ensure transparency and that prizes go to those who truly need and appreciate them. “This time around, it is more for people who need it, more for people who will appreciate it,” he concluded.
