Post: Speaker Hails Information Minister for Strengthening Public Trust


Freetown: The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas has praised Information and Civic Education Minister Chernor Bah, citing outstanding service, stronger government communication, and growing public trust.



According to Sierra Leone News Agency, during Thursday’s parliamentary sitting on 9 July 2026, the Speaker commended the Minister as he laid before Parliament a Joint Venture Agreement between the Ministry of Information and Civic Education and Diming Yimo Printing Group, dated 24 March 2026.



Rt. Hon. Thomas said the Ministry of Information has made notable progress in credibility in recent years, adding that public confidence in information issued by the Ministry has increased significantly. He recalled that many citizens once doubted official government communication, but said that perception has shifted because of the Minister’s commitment to transparency and effective public engagement.



‘This House is proud of you, and I am extremely proud of you. Thank you very much for everything,’ the Speaker said.



In response, Chernor Bah thanked the Speaker for the commendation and said he was humbled by the remarks.



‘Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, for those very kind words. I am humbled by your remarks,’ the Minister said.
