Ijebu ode: Prof. Samuel Oladipo, the Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), has unveiled a strategic plan aimed at positioning the institution among Nigeria’s top 25 universities and the top 3,000 globally by 2031. Oladipo made this known during his investiture as the sixth vice chancellor of the university, pledging to build on the institution’s legacy of excellence and commitment to educational development.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the vice chancellor paid tribute to the late educationist Dr. Tai Solarin, describing him as a visionary leader whose values of integrity, resilience, and service continue to inspire the university community. The institution, established in 2005 and converted to a federal university in 2025, has demonstrated resilience and remained focused on attaining greater national and international recognition, Oladipo stated.
Oladipo’s administration will be guided by the S.T.A.R.W.I.N. framework, which focuses on sustainable funding, technology, academic excellence, research productivity, staff and student welfare, infrastructure development, and international relations. He emphasized the pursuit of innovative revenue sources, strengthening professional programs, and deepening international collaborations to ensure financial sustainability and institutional growth.
The vice chancellor also pledged to drive digital transformation through improved campus connectivity, smart classrooms, and capacity building for staff and students to enhance teaching, learning, and administration. He highlighted plans for curriculum reviews, international accreditation, and a robust research ecosystem to boost academic quality, innovation, and the university’s global visibility.
Assuring staff and students of improved welfare, Oladipo promised better infrastructure, housing, transportation, and wellness programs to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. He also outlined plans for infrastructural development, including modern facilities and laboratories, to ensure accessibility and a conducive atmosphere for excellence.
Further, Oladipo promised to strengthen town-gown relations, expand partnerships with industry and foreign institutions, and increase the university’s participation in global academic and research networks. He called on staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to support the administration’s vision, emphasizing that collective commitment and accountability are essential to unlocking the university’s full potential.
Expressing optimism, the vice chancellor noted that with dedication and shared responsibility, TASFUED would emerge as a leading institution for teacher education and societal development in Nigeria and beyond. Prof. Rahamon Bello, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, urged Oladipo to deepen academic excellence and commended the Federal Government for retaining the council post-takeover, highlighting the decision’s crucial role in institutional stability and continuity.
