Abuja: President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Mr. Ismaeel Ahmed on his birthday, lauding his significant contributions to public service, youth mobilisation, and good governance. The president highlighted Ahmed’s role as the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (PiCNG and EV), recognizing him as a committed leader driving one of the administration’s ambitious energy transition programmes.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the president emphasized that the initiative spearheaded by Ahmed aims to provide affordable and sustainable energy for transportation, supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy alternatives and reducing reliance on conventional fossil fuels. The statement, issued by Presidential Spokesperson Mr. Bayo Onanuga in Abuja, underscores the administration’s commitment to energy innovation and environmental sustainability.
President Tinubu commended Ahmed as a dedicated emerging leader who has played a crucial role in strengthening the progressive political movement since the early days of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ahmed’s efforts in mobilising young Nigerians through the APC Youth Forum and his tenure as National Youth Leader of the APC were particularly noted for significantly expanding youth participation in the party and enhancing grassroots engagement across the country.
The president also acknowledged Ahmed’s service as Senior Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Investments, highlighting his contributions to key intervention programmes. Additionally, Tinubu recognized Ahmed’s strategic involvement as Secretary of the Policy and Strategy Directorate of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign during the 2023 general elections, marking his vital role in shaping the political landscape.
