Marrakech: President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles for their victory over Algeria and qualification for the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The team secured a 2-0 win against Algeria, advancing to the next stage of the tournament.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Nigeria’s triumph over Algeria was achieved through goals scored by Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams in Marrakech. This victory not only secured their place in the semi-finals but also extended their unbeaten run in the competition.
President Tinubu expressed his delight over the team’s performance, describing it as “brilliant” and “inspiring.” He emphasized the support of all Nigerians for the Super Eagles as they prepare for their next match.
The Super Eagles are set to face Morocco, the host nation, in the semi-final on Wednesday. The match will determine who will advance to the final, which is scheduled to take place on January 18 in Rabat.
