Post: Trinity University Vice-Chancellor Urges New Lab Scientists to Uphold Integrity

Lagos:The Vice-Chancellor of Trinity University, Prof. Clement Kolawole, has called on newly-inducted Medical Laboratory Scientists from the institution to maintain high standards of integrity and quality control. Addressing the graduates at the university’s third induction ceremony, Kolawole emphasized the critical role of accurate test results in patient safety.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Kolawole discouraged practices that could endanger patients’ lives, stressing that laboratory scientists must uphold accuracy, integrity, and accountability in their work. He highlighted the importance of innovation and competence, urging the graduates to enhance the environment they work in rather than merely seeking better opportunities elsewhere.

Mrs. Nonye Umahi, Managing Consultant at Cuanu Consult Ltd., also addressed the graduates, encouraging them to pursue innovative solutions in healthcare delivery beyond routine laboratory duties. She advised them to explore careers in research, health technology, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing that professional success is measured by problem-solving and value creation.

In his valedictory speech, Mr. Seun Olaitan shared his personal journey of overcoming academic challenges, crediting his course adviser, Mrs. Obiageri Okeoma, for her support during a difficult period. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the graduates into the medical laboratory science profession after five years of rigorous training.
