Como: Italian club Como enjoyed their Champions League debut as they thrashed RB Leipzig 4-1 at home, while fellow debutants Sabah suffered a 4-0 loss at Manchester United on Thursday night.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, German giants Bayern Munich started their Champions League campaign with a 5-0 victory over Norway’s Bodo/Glimt. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe made their return to the competition with a 1-1 draw at home against AS Roma.
In their impressive debut, Cesc Fàbregas-led Como showed no signs of nerves as they opened the scoring against RB Leipzig in the 15th minute through Marti Baturina’s strike. Taso Douvikas and Diao added two more to make it 3-0 for the hosts. Maksimovic managed to pull one back for RB Leipzig, but Maximo Perrone sealed the victory for Como with a fourth goal in stoppage time. Baturina expressed his delight, stating, “It was a great night for the team and for the city.”

nited dominated them 4-0 at Old Trafford. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for United, followed by goals from Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Sesko, and Lisandro Martinez. United’s manager, Carrick, praised his team’s defensive performance, emphasizing the clean sheet and the attacking players’ contributions.
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern were initially held to a goalless first half, but Jamal Musial broke the deadlock with a goal shortly after the break. Bayern then surged ahead with goals from Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies, and a brace from Michael Olise to secure a commanding win at the Allianz Arena.
In Istanbul, Roma took a 1-0 lead against Fenerbahçe after Bryan Cristante’s goal, but the hosts equalized early in the second half through Archie Brown. Despite efforts from both sides, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere, PSV Eindhoven drew 1-1 at home against Shakhtar Donetsk, while Lens stunned host Slavia Prague by scoring twice in stoppage time to claim a 3-2 victory.
