Post: Uzodinma Lauds Ex-Imo APC Chairman Ebere for Good Stewardship


Owerri: Imo Gov. Hope Uzodinma has praised the immediate past state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Macdonald Ebere, for his stewardship, describing him as one of the best politicians in the state. Uzodinma made the remark at the Grand Civic Reception organized by Owerri Nchi Ise in honor of their son, Dr. Macdonald Ebere, in Owerri.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Uzodinma commended Ebere for serving the party well as a state chairman, noting that he conducted the affairs of the APC effectively during his tenure. The governor emphasized the importance of political equity and the necessity of rotating positions, which led to Ebere’s appointment as the state chairman. Uzodinma expressed his delight in associating with Ebere and his family, acknowledging his effective leadership as the state chairman of the party.



Uzodinma also highlighted Ebere’s appointment as the Chairman of the Federal College of Fisheries, Lagos, attributing it to the wisdom of President Bola Tinubu. The governor expressed his happiness and gratitude for the divine guidance that has favored Ebere’s career, and he joined the Ebere family in thanking God for the achievements.



Governor Uzodinma took the opportunity to address the audience, warning individuals against illegally acquiring state government lands within the Owerri Capital City. He stressed the importance of maintaining a good image for Owerri, which reflects on the entire state of Imo. The governor outlined the state’s Development Plan, approved by the House of Assembly, which sets a trajectory for the state’s development over the next 25 years.



During the event, Dr. Macdonald Ebere expressed his gratitude to Governor Uzodinma for the numerous infrastructural developments in Owerri. He urged the governor to assist in developing the Ugwuegbema area as a tourism center, highlighting its cultural significance to the Owerri indigenes. Ebere mentioned the community’s financial efforts toward the tourism project and invited the governor to the upcoming Oru Owerri Cultural Festival.



Ebere acknowledged Uzodinma’s support in his education, political journey, and various assistance since 2003. He listed significant developments in Owerri, including road constructions, the Digital City, and other projects initiated by the governor.



Earlier, Mr. Ernest Ibejiakor, Imo Commissioner for Industry, Mines, and Solid Minerals, expressed his appreciation for Uzodinma’s contributions to Owerri and Dr. Macdonald Ebere. He also thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ebere as the chairman of the Federal College of Fisheries, Lagos. Mr. Cyril Emeh, Chairman of Oha Owerri Nchi Ise, along with his colleagues, extended their blessings to Dr. Macdonald Ebere for his leadership and contributions to the country.
