Post: Vocational Training in Ibadan Praised as Transformative by Participants

Ibadan:Participants in the vocational training organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE) have described the program as life-transforming.

Accourding to News Agency of Nigeria, the Federal Government has been commended by participants who shared their experiences. Dr. Abiola Arogundade, Senior Special Assistant to the President on TVEE, stated that the training aims to equip participants with practical and sustainable skills to unlock opportunities, strengthen livelihoods, and achieve lasting economic empowerment.

The 10-day training, focusing on graphics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), make-up artistry, and fashion design, has been reported to significantly expand participants’ skills. Miss Soliu Balikis, a participant in makeup artistry and a University of Ilorin mathematics graduate, said the training opened new paths toward entrepreneurship and improved livelihood. She expressed her eagerness to combine her teaching profession with makeup artistry to enhance her income.

Mr. Akintunde Fabiyi, another participant and a teacher of Mathematics and Science, described his training in technology as insightful, highlighting his broadened knowledge of digital tools, graphic design, and AI. He emphasized the importance of AI in graphic design and expressed plans to continuously develop his skills and professional prospects.

Mr. Ogunyemi Oduragbemi, a fashion design trainee, shared his excitement about receiving equipment at the end of the training, which will allow him to combine trading with fashion design to enhance his income.

The training, attended by 200 participants, commenced on September 28 in Ibadan and is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
