Abuja: Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that no project will be abandoned under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He gave this assurance following an inspection of the ongoing construction of the dual carriageway from Nile University to Ring Road III in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike also inspected the ongoing full scope development of Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II, Abuja. The minister emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for abandoned infrastructure, declaring that most ongoing projects would be delivered to residents by the end of December. He stated that the administration is committed to eliminating the culture of abandoned public works, saying, “No project will be abandoned under Tinubu’s administration, and we are keeping that promise.”
Wike highlighted the broader push by the Tinubu administration to clear the backlog of stalled infrastructure projects and deliver on promises made to FCT residents. He noted that several projects that were awarded since 2010 have been completed, with work continuing on the remaining ones. Additionally, he assured residents that the construction of a N20 bridge over the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway would be completed.
The minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring all projects are completed, asking residents for patience. He commended the contractors for their quality delivery of projects in the FCT, further assuring that the projects initiated by the current administration would not be left unfinished.
