Post: ZLP Presidential Candidate Pledges to Prioritise National Unity and Tackle Corruption in 2027

Abuja: The presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dr Dan Nwanyanwu, has committed to prioritising national unity and addressing issues of insecurity and corruption if elected in the 2027 general elections. Nwanyanwu made this vow during his acceptance speech after being chosen as the consensus candidate at the party’s national convention in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Nwanyanwu expressed concern over the lack of unity among Nigerians, noting that the country’s diversity, once a source of strength, has been poorly managed over the years. He emphasised the deepening ethnic and religious consciousness that threatens the nation’s unity. To address this, he promised to promote inclusive governance, restore citizens’ rights, and establish foundational structures across the regions to unite the country.

Nwanyanwu also highlighted the deteriorating state of security in Nigeria. He assured that, if given the mandate, his government would equip and direct security agencies to eliminate insurgents across the nation. He vowed to prosecute those arrested, along with their collaborators and enablers, ensuring swift justice.

In addition to security, Nwanyanwu pledged to tackle corruption head-on. He stated that corruption would not be tolerated, and individuals or groups with unexplained wealth would face thorough investigations and sanctions. He also mentioned plans to send an executive bill to the National Assembly to establish state and community policing to enhance security further.

Moreover, Nwanyanwu promised to restore confidence among the youth and transform Nigeria into a hub for economic and social prosperity. He urged party members to remain dedicated and mobilise support nationwide to secure victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.
