Abuja: The YARI 774 Initiative for Asiwaju has presented Hon. Micah Jiba as its official Coordinator for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to lead grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, the Convener and Chairman of the initiative, Mr Ibrahim Emokpaire, stated that the appointment was aimed at establishing a disciplined, authentic, and accountable leadership structure in the territory.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Emokpaire noted that the public unveiling was necessary to provide clear political coordination and address the issue of unauthorised individuals parading as representatives of the group in the FCT. He emphasized the importance of clarity regarding official leadership to eliminate confusion and discourage misrepresentation among supporters of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Emokpaire praised President Tinubu’s administration and lauded the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for his infrastructural initiatives that align with the Renewed Hope Agenda. He also acknowledged the appointment of the initiative’s Grand Patron, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari, as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, expressing confidence in Yari’s ability to deliver a national victory. Emokpaire added that preparations were underway to inaugurate state executive structures across the 36 states and the FCT.
In his acceptance speech, Jiba, a former member of the House of Representatives and former Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), pledged to leverage his extensive network among local government stakeholders to secure victory for the APC in 2027. He highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s investments in road infrastructure as a significant factor that connects communities and boosts local economies. Jiba assured that he would unite stakeholders across the six area councils to deliver the FCT to the party.
