Ampem Darkoa Ladies Nominated for CAF Club of the Year, Players and Coach Receive Top Nods

Tema – GNA – Ampem Darkoa Ladies, the Women’s Premier League champions, have been nominated for the prestigious Club of the Year award at the upcoming 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards. This recognition comes ahead of the ceremony scheduled for December 11, 2023, in Morocco. The Ghanaian club has had an exceptional season, winning the Premier League back-to-back, the Women’s FA Cup, the WAFU B Championship, and securing a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League.

According to Ghana News Agency, The Techiman-based team is on the brink of making a significant impact on the continent in its first appearance at this level. Ampem Darkoa Ladies will face SC Casablanca in the semi-finals, with hopes of advancing to potentially become champions of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Additionally, 16-year-old Comfort Yeboah from Ampem Darkoa Ladies has been shortlisted for both the CAF Inter Club Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards. Yeboah’s performance has been remarkable, as evidenced by her goal in the Champions League and an MVP award. She will be contending for the top prize alongside Tracey Twum and Mary Amponsah, who have also received nominations for the Inter Club Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year, respectively.

Completing the list of nominations from the club is Nana Adarkwah, Head Coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who has been nominated for the Coach of the Year award. This nomination is a testament to his significant contributions and success with the team.
