Post: APC Candidate Advocates Unity in Agege, Commits to Serving the People

Abuja: The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State House of Assembly candidate, Mr. Oluwagbenga Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, has pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him through humility, dedication, and selfless service. Abiola made the pledge in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, following the confirmation by the party as the flag bearer for Agege 1 state constituency.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abiola described his emergence as a call to greater responsibility, emphasizing that the mandate entrusted to him remained a sacred obligation to serve the people faithfully. The APC candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, supporters, and residents for their confidence in his aspiration. He acknowledged that the victory was not his alone, but belonged to every individual who played a part in his journey, and he promised to serve faithfully.

Abiola stated that the outcome of the primary election was more than a political success, as it reaffirmed the people’s desire for responsive, inclusive, and people-centered representation. He emphasized that leadership should always be defined by integrity, accountability, accessibility, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people.

Addressing reactions to the primary election outcome, Abiola urged restraint, maturity, and unity among party members. He appealed to those promoting narratives of betrayal to focus on the larger purpose of politics, which he described as service, interests, alignment, and the collective aspirations of the people, rather than individual gains.

Abiola noted that differences are inevitable in every democratic contest but stressed that unity after competition is the hallmark of a progressive political family. He extended an invitation to all aspirants, supporters, and stakeholders to unite in building a stronger APC and securing a brighter future for Agege.

The APC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to championing legislation addressing youth empowerment, education, healthcare, economic development, security, and social welfare. He pledged to engage in continuous consultation with constituents to ensure policies and legislative interventions reflect their genuine needs and aspirations.

Abiola acknowledged the support of party elders, leaders, community stakeholders, women groups, youth organizations, and grassroots mobilizers, noting their encouragement strengthened his resolve to serve the constituency with excellence. He urged residents of Agege Constituency I to remain peaceful, united, and hopeful ahead of the general election, emphasizing that sustainable development could only be achieved through collective responsibility and inclusive leadership.

Concluding his statement, Abiola expressed that his campaign would remain focused on ideas, service, and the aspirations of the people. He called on all stakeholders to work together in the interest of peace, unity, and the continued progress of Agege Constituency I.
