Abuja: Mr. Eze Chukwu, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has called on Governor Alex Otti of Abia to return to APGA. Chukwu described the party as Otti’s ‘true political home,’ emphasizing that APGA once embodied Otti’s political aspirations and provided the platform for his past electoral victories.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Chukwu highlighted Otti’s leadership style, people-oriented reforms, and reform-driven agenda as aligning closely with the ideals and governance philosophy that APGA has upheld since its founding. He noted the party’s mantra of being one’s brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, which he believes is reflected in Otti’s approach to governance.
Chukwu emphasized that APGA maintains a cordial relationship with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), viewing the party as a partner in progress rather than an adversary. He warned that joining another political party could expose Otti to unnecessary political challenges, while returning to APGA wou
ld safeguard his interests and agenda.
Chukwu pointed out that Otti’s friend, Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra, already maintains a productive relationship with President Bola Tinubu, strengthening APGA’s position as a secure political platform. He described the party’s leadership as youthful, dynamic, and forward-thinking, committed to growth and alignment with national governance objectives.
The youth leader appealed to Otti to reunite with the party, stressing that APGA has historically supported his political journey and understands his vision and strengths. He described APGA as the political identity of Ndigbo, founded by the late Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, and emphasized its role in advancing the South East’s influence.
Chukwu argued that collaboration between Otti and Soludo within APGA could make the party a major political force, promoting unity and development in the South East and Nigeria. He noted that APGA consistently offers a platform for leaders delivering progressive governance and reforms,
a natural home for Otti’s political identity.
He further urged Otti to consider APGA’s trust among the electorate, its cordial relations with the ruling party, and its ability to shield members from political harassment. Chukwu emphasized that returning to APGA would strengthen both the party and the political relevance of the South East within Nigeria’s broader national political structure.
The APGA youth leader called for careful reflection, reminding Otti that the party aligns with his governance philosophy and shares a commitment to discipline, reform, and people-focused leadership. Chukwu stated that APGA’s current leadership is competent and visionary, capable of supporting Otti’s second tenure and providing a platform for his progressive agenda.
He advised Otti to prioritize familiarity and trust in his political choices, urging him to ‘choose the devil you know over the angel you are yet to know.’ Chukwu concluded by stating that APGA remains a political family that understands Otti’s strengths, vi
sion, and political journey, urging him to return and answer the call of history, destiny, and the people.
