Post: Atiku Describes 2027 Election as a Rescue Mission for Nigerians

Abuja:Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has characterized the 2027 general election as a rescue mission for Nigerians and is urging voters to support the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the ADC, made this appeal during the inauguration of the party’s presidential campaign council (ADC-PCC) in Abuja. He emphasized that the election is crucial for improving citizens’ welfare and making life more affordable.

Atiku encouraged members of the campaign council to communicate to Nigerians that the January 16 election is about improving their welfare and securing their families’ futures. He stressed the importance of voter participation, urging Nigerians to use their permanent voter cards (PVCs) as powerful tools for change.

He also highlighted the need for electoral transparency, stating that effective policies and security plans are inconsequential if the integrity of the voting process is compromised. Atiku called for the independent verification of election results by accredited party agents, civil society organizations, and observers to complement the responsibilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku condemned efforts to restrict opposition candidates from campaigning in certain regions, particularly in Benue, and pledged that ADC candidates would campaign across all regions. He also outlined his vision for petroleum policy, advocating for locally refined products and accountability in budgetary allocations.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of making essential goods affordable, restoring reliable power, creating jobs, and fostering business growth. Atiku urged members of the ADC-PCC to approach their tasks with dedication and commitment to accomplish the party’s goals.
