Governor Babagana Umara Zulum expressed his deep gratitude to all the donors and emphasized the need for continued support, calling on private sector players and international organizations to join in the effort to rebuild and rehabilitate the affected communities.
‘The generosity we are witnessing is truly commendable, but the scale of destruction requires even more assistance. We urge more stakeholders and organizations to contribute towards the recovery process,’ Zulum said.
The floods, which have persisted for several weeks, have left a trail of destruction across the Maiduguri Metropolis, with thousands of residents still displaced.
The donations, both large and small, will play a critical role in providing relief and rebuilding efforts for the affected populations.
