ACCRA — The British Council Ghana has entered into a collaborative agreement with the National Youth Authority (NYA) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), reinforcing its commitment to youth empowerment. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the parties aims to bolster the capacity of young Ghanaians through various development and employment initiatives.
According to Ghana News Agency, In a statement from the British Council, Mr. Doodo Dodoo, the Country Director, emphasized the objective to provide the youth with valuable skills and opportunities that align with the nation’s developmental goals. The partnership is expected to address the dual challenges of youth employment and engagement in the fight against climate change. Furthermore, the collaboration aspires to enhance the National Service Scheme by endowing its personnel with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, thereby making the service experience more meaningful. Mr. Pius Enam Hadzide, CEO of the NYA, and Mr. Assibey Antwi Osei, Executive Director of the NSS, both expressed confidence that this alliance would mark a new era in youth development standards and would be instrumental in equipping young individuals with the competencies required for meaningful employment or self-employment.
