Post: NIIA Praises Amb. Enikanolaiye’s Nomination as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs


Abuja: The Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) has expressed approval for President Bola Tinubu’s nomination of Ambassador Olusola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Director-General of the NIIA, Professor Eghosa Osaghae, conveyed his congratulations to Enikanolaiye in a message, referring to him as the ‘Dictionary’ and ‘Encyclopedia’ of Nigerian foreign policy and diplomacy. Osaghae highlighted Enikanolaiye’s extensive experience, which sets him apart as a diplomat, technocrat, civil servant, and former permanent secretary. His role as director of geopolitical affairs and military strategy at the National Defence College further underscores his qualifications.



Osaghae emphasized Enikanolaiye’s professionalism, patriotism, and dedication to national progress, asserting that these qualities make him well-suited for the ministerial role. He noted that the appointment is a perfect fit, as evidenced by Enikanolaiye’s esteemed reputation in the field of Nigerian foreign policy and diplomacy. Osaghae expressed optimism that Enikanolaiye’s appointment would usher in positive changes and garner significant support and goodwill, which are essential for a successful tenure.



Enikanolaiye’s previous role as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations allowed him to exhibit notable leadership skills, leading to significant achievements.
