Xi’an:The Qinling Mountains, a vital ecological area in China, are benefiting from new technologies aimed at enhancing conservation efforts. The ‘Dual Wings Enablement · New Vision of Chang’an’ Exchange Event, held on September 24 at the General Qinling Protection Station in Huyi District, Xi’an, highlighted the region’s first intelligent management and protection platform at the district or county level. This initiative is part of a broader project to integrate new-quality productive forces (NQPF) and digital tools into ecological conservation.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the General Qinling Protection Station serves as a digital hub in Xi’an for safeguarding the Qinling ecological barrier. It utilizes a comprehensive monitoring system to create an intricate ecological protection network across the mountains. The station, located at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains, combines warning education, conservation research, and intelligent control.
The station’s control center features a high-definition screen that provides real-time surveillance of the Huyi section, displaying vital information about the area’s geography and resources. Visitors were shown the platform’s operation, which includes AI-based recognition and warning systems, drone patrols, and a structured workflow managed by grid inspectors.
The platform, described as the ‘smart brain’ of Qinling protection, integrates extensive data to form a three-dimensional supervision system. It addresses patrol blind spots using monitoring points, drones, and collaboration with inspectors and volunteers. The system can detect potential hazards, issue warnings, and dispatch personnel efficiently, ensuring that management and protection efforts are traceable and controllable.
Additionally, the platform facilitates data sharing among departments such as natural resources, emergency management, and forestry. This interdepartmental coordination expedites problem detection and resolution, enhancing the overall efficiency and accuracy of ecological management in the Qinling Mountains. Through such technological advancements, the region is setting a precedent in digital ecological management.
