Post: APC Aspirant Pledges Support for MSMEs on Workers Day


Abuja: Mr Segun Tomori, an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, has pledged to support owners of Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) with grants. Tomori made the commitment in his special message for workers, acknowledging their contributions to development during the commemoration of Workers Day.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Workers Day is celebrated on May 1 to promote fair wages, safe conditions, and social justice. Tomori emphasized his commitment to facilitate access to Federal Government initiatives and collaborate with relevant agencies to expand businesses and improve living conditions if elected to serve in the House of Representatives.



Tomori expressed his intention to partner with agencies like CREDiTCorp to ensure workers in his constituency have access to necessary credit for essential needs. He also vowed to rally colleagues in passing legislation to improve the welfare and dignity of Nigerian workers. He called for a collective commitment to national interest, urging workers and leaders alike to harness Nigeria’s potential.



Tomori, a former Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, highlighted the need for renewed commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers. He advocated for acts of kindness to ease the burdens of individuals and put smiles on people’s faces.



Highlighting the contributions of Nigeria’s workforce across various sectors such as tech, civil service, entertainment, manufacturing, and agriculture, Tomori praised their dynamism in driving growth and boosting GDP. He celebrated workers, especially those whose quiet sacrifices enhance life in the country, calling them unsung heroes.



NAN reports that Tomori has also pledged to focus on youth empowerment through digital skills and promote grassroots sports. His past roles include Team Lead of the Strategic Communication Directorate for the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council, Personal Assistant to the former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, and a member of the APC Screening Committee in Abuja.



Tomori holds a degree in geology and a Master’s in Public Administration. He was the APC South West Zonal Youth Leader candidate in 2018 and a councillorship candidate for Ailegun Ward, Ejigbo, in 2013/2014.
