Cape Town: The Portfolio Committee on Sport, Arts and Culture has expressed its appreciation for the achievements of South African teams, particularly noting the triumph of the Under 20 team which recently clinched a championship title after a 13-year hiatus.
According to African Press Organization, the Chairperson of the committee, Mr. Joe McGluwa, emphasized the pride and sense of accomplishment felt across the nation due to these sporting victories. He acknowledged the challenges faced by South African teams and celebrated their ability to overcome obstacles and achieve remarkable success.
The Under 20 rugby team, led by Norton and Foote, demonstrated their prowess in their matches against New Zealand in Italy. The team’s performance was consistent and dominant, making it clear from the outset that they were determined to secure the championship title. Mr. McGluwa remarked on the predictability of their victory, noting that many South Africans had faith in the team’s potential to emerge as champions.
