Abuja: A Magistrates’ Court in Abuja has adjourned until April 15 the case of alleged breach of trust and cheating filed against a civil servant, Priscilla Dombin. The police charged Dombin with three counts of breach of trust, cheating, and criminal intimidation. Magistrate Lami Sani fixed the date after hearing the testimony of a businessman, Akin Oyegoke, on Wednesday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Oyegoke testified that he became friends with the defendant in 2021, and she promised to help him purchase an SUV vehicle from the Nigeria Customs Service for six million Naira. He stated that the defendant asked him to pay two million Naira for the purchase of the vehicle and to later pay the balance of four million Naira upon delivery.
Oyegoke further explained that the vehicle was never delivered after many years, and the money deposited into the defendant’s account was not refunded. He added that the defendant, who apologized for the failed deal, had promised to repay the money.
He also informed the court that the defendant later threatened to disrupt his marriage if he mentioned the issue to anyone. He decided to report the matter to the police due to the threats, intimidation, and blackmail from the defendant.
