Lagos: Mr Ayoola Lawal, a former Secretary of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, has stated that Dr Bernard Doro’s appointment to represent West Africa on the Governing Board of the African Union Humanitarian Agency is well deserved. Lawal made this announcement in a press statement released in Lagos.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Lawal, who previously chaired the APC in the Scandinavian Countries, extended his congratulations to Doro, expressing confidence in the minister’s ability to meet the expectations of both the African Union and Nigeria. He highlighted that the appointment is a significant recognition of Doro’s leadership abilities, professional competence, and dedication to humanitarian service.
Lawal emphasized that this development showcases Nigeria’s increasing role in humanitarian coordination and social protection efforts across Africa. He noted that the appointment provides Nigeria and the West African region with an opportunity to contribute to African-led humanitarian policies and enhance regional cooperation in addressing various humanitarian challenges.
Lawal expressed confidence that Doro’s experience in humanitarian coordination, poverty reduction, and institutional reforms would be beneficial to the African Humanitarian Agency’s initiatives. He also extended his prayers for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Doro as he takes on this responsibility, wishing him success in serving both Nigeria and Africa.
The News Agency of Nigeria also recalls that the federal ministry of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction announced Doro’s appointment on Tuesday through an official statement.
