Abuja: The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, has called on Nigerians to unite in the face of ongoing security challenges in the country. In his Eid el-Kabir message to Muslims, delivered by his Special Assistant on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, and shared with the News Agency of Niger (NAN), Musa emphasized the importance of collective sacrifice and devotion in strengthening the national unity.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Musa highlighted that the peace and progress of Nigeria depend on a shared commitment among its citizens. He urged Nigerians to transcend their differences and uphold the ideals of a strong, secure, and indivisible nation, especially during the holy season of Eid el-Kabir.
The minister also commended the officers and men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their bravery, resilience, and patriotism. He acknowledged their continuous efforts in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and combating criminal activities across various regions.
Musa reminded Nigerians to remember and pray for the troops who are on the frontlines ensuring the country’s safety, even as citizens celebrate Eid el-Kabir in their homes. He reassured the public of the Ministry of Defence’s unwavering commitment to providing the necessary support, welfare, and equipment needed to effectively address threats to national peace.
