Abuja: The Obedient Movement Worldwide has announced that a technical public lecture by its National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, will significantly contribute to the strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, this was revealed in a statement issued by Dr. Ben Onwudinjo, Programme Coordinator of the University of Lagos Professional Diploma Programmes. Onwudinjo highlighted that the lecture is intended for students of the 2025/2026 Professional Diploma Course in Election Monitoring and Administration at the Human Resources Development Centre, University of Lagos.
Onwudinjo emphasized that the lecture, set for February 16, aligns with the Human Resources Development Centre’s mandate to train skilled personnel for electoral processes. The nine-month professional diploma course aims to prepare 10,000 individuals to serve as political party agents, local and international election monitors, and observers.
He further elaborated that graduates of the program could take on roles as ad-hoc staff, volunteers, supervisors, and technical personnel for the 2027 general elections, thus contributing to the growth and stability of democracy in Nigeria.
Dr. Yunusa is anticipated to impart his on-the-job experience in political party administration, which will enhance the trainees’ ability to deliver credible election monitoring in 2027. Onwudinjo stated that candidates who complete the program will receive assistance in securing employment during and after the 2027 elections.
He also encouraged public participation in the series of online technical lectures offered through the program. Onwudinjo provided instructions for interested candidates seeking the Professional Diploma Certificate in Election Monitoring and Administration from the University of Lagos, directing them to register via hrdc.unilag.edu.ng.
Additionally, Yunusa has committed to providing a 30-page, well-researched term paper to all participants following the lecture, with the top 500 submissions receiving notable rewards.
