Lagos: Fans and colleagues of veteran Nollywood actor and lawmaker Desmond Elliot have celebrated him as he marks his 51st birthday.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the actor made a post on Instagram announcing his birthday. He expressed gratitude and reflected on his life while honoring the memories of Bukky Coker, Gbenga Adenowo, and Omolara Obatolu, whom he recently lost. He dedicated his special day to them, praying for comfort and strength for their families.



Following his post, fans, well-wishers, and colleagues flooded social media with messages and prayers. Comments included heartfelt birthday wishes and blessings for the future, with fans and fellow actors such as Ufuoma Mcdermott, Chioma Akpotha, Iniedo, Nancy Isime, and comedian AY joining in the celebration.



Desmond Elliot, born February 4, 1974, in Lagos, started his career in television soap operas and became a leading actor in Nollywood, appearing in over 200 films. He has received several nominations, including the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Beyond his acting career, Elliot ventured into politics and won the Surulere Constituency in the 2015 Nigerian General Elections. He is also involved in advocacy work addressing child illiteracy in Nigeria and Africa.
