Mokwa: The Federal Government Renewed Hope Economic Shocks Response Initiative has announced the allocation of financial assistance to 780 additional vulnerable households in Niger State, aimed at alleviating economic difficulties following the removal of subsidies. Each household is set to receive N75,000 as part of this initiative.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Hajiya Hauwa Bako, Special Adviser and Focal Person for the National Social Investment Programme in Niger, shared this development during a debit card distribution event in Mokwa. Bako explained that these 780 households are in addition to over 50,000 beneficiaries who have already received N75,000 in financial support across the state’s 25 local government areas.
Bako further revealed that the program is expected to benefit approximately 180,000 vulnerable households throughout Niger State. She credited the success of the initiative to the dedication of Governor Umaru Bago, particularly highlighting his commitment to social intervention and ongoing infrastructural development within the state.
Alhaji Shaba Aliyu, the Ndalile of Mokwa, praised the initiative and encouraged beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds. Beneficiaries like Adamu Baba and Fatima Raba voiced their appreciation to both state and federal governments, noting the timely nature of the aid as they restart their farming endeavors.
The distribution exercise was attended by Alhaji Abdullahi Baba-Arah, Director General of the state’s Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA). This initiative represents a continued effort by the Federal Government to deliver direct financial support to vulnerable households, helping them navigate the prevailing economic challenges.
