Abuja: The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RSE Energy Nigeria to provide off-grid and embedded power solutions for industrial clusters across the country.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the signing ceremony took place on Tuesday in Abuja, where the Minister of State for Industry, Sen. John Enoh, expressed that the agreement marked the culmination of engagements that began before his posting to the ministry. Enoh highlighted the importance of the MOU, stating that it aligns with ongoing policy efforts to address energy challenges facing industries.
Enoh emphasized that the MOU outlined mutual commitments and would support the deployment of off-grid and embedded power solutions. He mentioned that the proposed solutions, including biomass and gas, were aimed at providing reliable energy for industrial clusters, special economic zones, and agro-processing establishments. The Idu Industrial Cluster in Abuja was identified as a potential pilot project to test these solutions.
Earlier, Ambassador Nura Rimi, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, stated that the partnership was in the overall interest of the country. He noted that the MOU was in line with the Renewable Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the ministry’s flagship programs.
Olena Nedryhailo, the Chief Executive Officer of RSE Energy Nigeria, remarked that the partnership was based on long-term commitment and practical experience. She shared insights from the company’s deployment of decentralised co-generation systems in Ukraine, which taught them how systems can integrate into networks, scale, and remain reliable over time. Nedryhailo affirmed the company’s readiness to serve as a long-term partner in building a decentralised energy system for Nigeria.
