Post: FG Unveils Comprehensive IPPIS HR Modules to Enhance Federal Civil Service

Abuja: The Federal Government on Monday unveiled the harmonised Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Human Resource (HR) Modules, aiming to strengthen institutional capacity, improve performance, and promote accountability within the federal civil service. Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, marked this significant milestone in Abuja, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on institutional strengthening and improved service delivery.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the initiative seeks to address the fragmentation and operational challenges in human resource management across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). The platform, developed in collaboration with Soft Alliance and the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, integrates critical functions such as biometric enrolment, establishment management, payroll administration, and employee self-service. The system currently supports 508 ministries, extra-ministerial departments, and agencies, aiming to eliminate duplication and enhance oversight.

Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, applauded the IPPIS as a modernisation tool for personnel records and payroll systems, describing it as a successful reform since its inception in 2003. The Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, highlighted the journey from the initial seven MDAs in 2007 to the current 508, encompassing over a million employee records. This development marks a progression towards comprehensive digital human capital development.

Dr. Bisi Aina, Managing Director of Soft Alliance, emphasized the platform’s role in strengthening governance and workforce management. He noted that the indigenous technology company’s contribution demonstrates Nigeria’s capacity to deliver world-class enterprise solutions tailored to national needs. The new system provides greater visibility into workforce demographics and enhances operational efficiency by automating HR processes and standardizing workflows.

Mr. Abiodun Olushola, Product Manager at Soft Alliance, added that all existing data has been successfully migrated to the new system, with future phases set to include modules for recruitment and learning management, further enhancing the platform’s capabilities.
