Lagos: Santuscom Agro Investment Company Limited and Santuscom Fertiliser have unveiled an organo-mineral fertiliser aimed at improving crop yields, enhancing soil fertility, and supporting food security in Nigeria. The company announced that the newly developed product is designed to promote sustainable agricultural production and improve farmers’ productivity across the country.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Ofana Santus, Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, emphasized that the fertiliser would contribute significantly to agricultural development in Cross River State and the South-South region. Santus, who is popularly known as ‘Mr Ogoja Rice’, explained that the product is tailored to improve nutrient efficiency, support healthy plant growth, and increase crops’ resilience to adverse weather conditions.
‘The introduction of Santuscom Organo-Mineral Fertiliser marks a significant step towards addressing the challenges of poor harvests and declining soil fertility faced by many farmers,’ he stated. The product has been meticulously developed to provide balanced nutrition for crops while enhancing soil health for sustainable agricultural production. It combines the benefits of organic and mineral nutrients, offering an effective solution for farmers aiming for higher productivity and improved crop quality.
Santus further highlighted that the fertiliser would assist farmers in reducing production costs by enhancing nutrient retention in the soil, thereby minimizing the need for excessive fertiliser application. Additionally, the product is designed to improve water retention capacity, enabling crops to better withstand drought and irregular rainfall.
The unveiling of the product signifies a boost to efforts towards sustainable agriculture, improving farmers’ incomes, and supporting Nigeria’s drive for food sufficiency.
