Post: Flooding: SDP Sympathises With Borno State, Calls For Intervention


The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Nigeria has commiserated with the government and people of Borno State, over the recent devastating flooding in the State.

The National Chairman of the party, Mr. Shehu Gabam, also called on governments at all levels, for immediate intervention in the flooding areas across Nigeria.

He noted that ‘as a matter of urgency’ relevant agencies of states and non-states actors should ‘assist the victims of flooding especially in Maiduguri, the State capital’.

Gabam further urged the Nigerian ministry of Water Resources to always check on the Nigerian Dams life-span and capacity to avoid further flooding occourances in the country.

He also called on citizens to adhere to early warning and move to safety location to avert lost of lives and property.
