Abuja: The Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has called for stronger collaboration among government institutions and other stakeholders to address insecurity in the country. The Chairman of the Forum, Eze Chukwu, made the call at a press conference on the state of the nation on Friday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Chukwu emphasized the need for sustained national efforts to tackle terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, noting that insecurity remains a major concern in parts of the country. He highlighted the importance of government at all levels, security agencies, traditional institutions, and communities working more closely to improve safety and strengthen security responses.
Chukwu also advised against the circulation of graphic content relating to criminal activities on social media, warning that it could contribute to fear and further complicate security efforts. He stressed that citizens have a role to play by supporting security agencies while remaining responsible in their online engagement.
Additionally, Chukwu reiterated the Forum’s call for greater inclusion of young Nigerians in governance, pointing out that youths constitute a significant portion of the population. He urged efforts to expand opportunities for youth participation in political and leadership processes, while promoting cooperation between younger and older generations. He concluded that such balance would help strengthen governance and national development.
