Post: Foundation Set to Assist Widows, Children, Provide Access to Justice

Abuja: The Founder and Chairman of Strength Way Charity Foundation (SWCF), Mrs. Bridget Abung, announced the organization’s strategy to provide support and access to justice to underprivileged individuals in the country during the official inauguration of SWCF in Karu, Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abung, who is also a legal practitioner, shared that the foundation’s journey began with her parents, Ngozi and Akuse Udo, who engaged in charitable activities in Benue with their limited salaries, assisting victims of border crises and others. Abung expressed her desire to honor their legacy by formalizing these efforts. She noted that although the foundation was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2025, it had been actively involved in charitable activities for years across Benue, Nasarawa State, Kogi State, and the FCT. The foundation focuses on collecting items from the affluent and distributing them to the impoverished, particularly those displaced, providing essentials like clothing, shoes, toys, and cooking utensils.

Abung highlighted the dire situations faced by displaced individuals in IDP camps, often lacking basic necessities. She urged the public to support the NGO by donating unused items and reaching out through their contact number or website. Emphasizing that charity is a collective responsibility, she called for communal efforts to improve society for everyone. She extended her gratitude to various supporters, including Little Consolar of Christ Orphanage, her family, the Nigerian Bar Association, and others.

During the event, Dr. Chris Nzeduru, the Chairman of the occasion, stressed that Abung’s initiative, inspired by her parents, deserved support. He encouraged everyone to contribute, regardless of the amount, as even minimal support could significantly impact the lives of the less privileged.

Abung’s immediate elder brother, Terngu Udo, an engineer, recounted their parents’ long-standing commitment to social responsibilities in Vandekya and Katsina Ala Local Government Areas in Benue. He expressed the family’s unanimous support for Abung’s efforts to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the event was attended by various personalities from the legal profession, the Catholic community, NTA, orphanages, NDLEA, and others, who contributed to supporting the SWCF. The occasion featured donations and entertainment by Tiv Traditional dancers, delighting the guests present.
