Abuja: The Education Future Advancement Concept and Skills (EDUFACS) has restated its commitment to the nation’s development through grassroots empowerment. The Chairman of the group, Comrade Kareem Aderemi, made the announcement during a news conference in Abuja on Monday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Aderemi emphasized the importance of promoting local food protection, a goal achievable through agricultural innovation. He stated, “We will bring at least 70 per cent of Nigerians into agricultural vocation in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda of guaranteeing food sovereignty.” Aderemi further outlined the group’s strategy to transition Nigeria from a service-based economy to a production-based one, aiming to elevate the nation’s economic standing.
The EDUFACS Chairman affirmed the group’s determination to promote local content in all its projects. He highlighted the organization’s efforts to involve school children and students in agriculture, with EDUFACS offering to pay their tuition fees. This initiative is part of the group’s broader agenda to instill national pride through the effective use of land for farming.
Aderemi also noted that innovative agriculture has the potential to employ approximately 2.3 million Nigerians. Part of the group’s educational outreach includes teaching Nigerians how to process goat milk, which he claimed is healthier and more nutritious than cow milk. The group’s commitment to promoting locally produced goods was underscored by Aderemi’s assertion that 90 per cent of goods provided to beneficiaries are sourced locally.
The EDUFACS leader concluded by reaffirming the organization’s mission to add value to Nigeria’s economy through the production and distribution of organic crops.
