Enugu: Agbaja Leaders of Thought, a socio-cultural group in Enugu State, has urged investors to explore opportunities at the 9th Mile Industrial Park in Udi Local Government Area. They made the call during a press conference on Monday in Enugu to announce the 2025 Agbaja Summit scheduled to be held in Enugu between Nov. 26 and 27.
According to Voice of Nigeria, the Agbaja comprises Udi, Ezeagu, Oji-River, and Igboetiti Local Government Areas as well as parts of Enugu North, South, and East Council Areas of Enugu State. Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the planning committee of the Agbaja 2022 summit, Rev. Ugo Chime, highlighted the potential of the 9th Mile area as an industrial hub for investment where investors could establish businesses.
Chime emphasized that Ninth Mile boasts the best drinking water in Enugu State and presents a welcoming environment for visitors and investors. He encouraged the utilization of abundant natural resources in the area, such as coal, to transform the state. Chime als
o portrayed the Agbaja people as committed and selfless.
Additionally, Prof. Chike Anibeze, Chairman of the Agbaja Summit 2025 Planning Committee, noted that the summit would enhance education and skill acquisition among students in Enugu. He criticized current educational structures for producing graduates lacking practical skills, stressing the need for education that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.
Anibeze stated that education and skills development would be the central theme for Agbaja Summit 2025, aiming to merge ancestral wisdom with modern training to prepare for a competitive future. He explained that the summit would build on the successes of the maiden edition held in 2022 and focus on heritage.
The summit will feature a hybrid colloquium on education and skill development, with experts leading discussions, workshops, and practical sessions. Anibeze mentioned the Aspiring Entrepreneurs Workshop and Exhibition as part of the event, aimed at fostering innovation and capac
ity building. The summit will also celebrate Agbaja identity through cultural showcases of masquerades, music, dance, food, and attire.
Senator Odita Ngwu, representing Enugu West in the National Assembly, and former Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Mrs. Cecilia, both from Agbaja, expressed gratitude to the leaders of thought for their efforts in organizing the summit. They encouraged local investment to transform the area and pledged their support, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity.
