As Political Parties in Kano State, North West Nigeria prepare for Local Governments Elections slated for next month, the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP Concluded Screening of it’s candidates who will take part in the elections.
The NNPP Chairman in the state, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa made this known at the end of a high level stakeholders meeting of the Party in Kano.
He said, one woman has emerged as a candidate of Tudun Wada in the October Local Governments Elections out of the 44 candidates of the party.
Dungurawa explained that, 484 Councilorship candidates have also been screened, pointing out that, all of them have been proven credible in both character and patriotism to the society.
He noted that due process was followed in the screening process.
Dungurawa said the party has concluded its arrangements to participate in the forthcoming local polls, expressing the confidence of winning.
‘We have confidence of clinching the 44 local governments and this is because, we are with the people and the
people have confidence in our party and policies.
‘In addition we have credible candidates that trusted by the people.
‘God willing no one of them will lose the election in Kano including the 484 councillors because our party is accepted and we know like they vote for the Governor definitely they will vote for the party chairmen and councillors,’ he said.
The Kano NNPP Chairman thanked the leader of the Party, Rabi’u Kwankwaso for his support towards ensuring peaceful process.
‘We thank God for our leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who came down from Abuja and spent almost six nights sorting out and rubbing minds on this issue,’ he added.
