In Lagos, operatives from the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been honored with awards by the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association (LERSA). Alhaji Sulyman Bello, President of LERSA, announced the awards at a ceremony in Lagos, recognizing the awardees for their exemplary service after the completion of their tenures.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the honorees, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), include ACP Olajide Agboola, former Area J commander, eight former Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), two former LASTMA Area Commanders, and one retiring FRSC Unit Commander. Among them are CSP Onyinye Onwuamaegbu, CSP Adolf Ogwu, CSP Stephen Ademola Abolarin, CSP Tajudeen Mustapha, Engr. Ariyo Jimoh, and Mr. Alade Adebanjo.
Bello emphasized that these officers played a crucial role in ensuring safety and security on the Lekki Peninsula. Their commitment and patriotism, he noted, were instrumental in protecting lives and property in the rapidly growing area, known for being a prominent real estate corridor in Nigeria.
He highlighted that LERSA has consistently fostered a symbiotic relationship with partners in security services and that recognizing exemplary service is a key aspect of the association’s relationship management. Bello commended the efforts of the police, especially under the leadership of ACP Olajide Agboola, for their prompt response to security incidents, including armed robbery attacks on member-estates, often responding within 10 to 15 minutes.
Hon. Noheem Adams, Member of the House of Assembly for Etiosa Constituency, praised LERSA for effectively engaging with government agencies. He commended Agboola for his leadership and encouraged the newly deployed officers to emulate the awardees’ dedication. Adams reassured LERSA of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to making significant improvements in the Lekki area.
In response, Agboola, speaking on behalf of the awardees, expressed gratitude to LERSA for the recognition. He acknowledged that while they were performing their duties, the support and encouragement from the association were highly motivating.
