Post: LBSL Confirms Bus Fire on Third Mainland Bridge, No Casualties Reported


Lagos: The Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL), a mass transit transport company in Lagos, has confirmed a fire incident involving one of its buses on the Third Mainland Bridge. The confirmation was made by Mr. Idowu Oguntona, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LBSL, in a statement released to journalists.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the statement, signed by Mr. Afolabi Olawale, Public Affairs Officer of LBSL, detailed that the incident occurred at 1:00 p.m. on the Obalende to Oshodi route. The bus, identified with code number 240057, was completely consumed by fire despite the prompt response from good samaritans and emergency responders. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.



Oguntona emphasized that passenger safety is the organization’s top priority and assured that the incident is being taken seriously. A comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire, and necessary measures will be implemented to prevent future occurrences.



He extended gratitude to those who assisted during the incident, including the Commissioner for Transportation Lagos State, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi. Oguntona promised that updates on the investigation’s findings and any subsequent actions would be provided.
