Ibadan: A man, Fayode Adejumo, was on Monday arraigned before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court in Ibadan for allegedly trafficking 2.7 grams of ‘Colorado’, a potent synthetic cannabinoid, within the premises of the Agodi correctional centre.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command has charged Adejumo with trafficking illicit substances. Adejumo pleaded guilty to the one-count amended charge when it was read to him in court.
Consequently, Justice Agomoh ordered that Adejumo be remanded in the Agodi correctional facility and adjourned the case until May 25 for the presentation of facts and sentencing.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr. D.O. Otunla, informed the court that the defendant committed the crime on February 25 at the Agodi correctional centre, located in Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State. Otunla further stated that NDLEA operatives apprehended Adejumo in possession of a bag containing 2.7 grams of ‘Colorado’.
