Abuja:The Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Ahmadu, has advised Nigerians to be cautious of scammers and desperate politicians as the 2027 general elections approach. He emphasized the importance of evaluating political promises and the performance of the current administration before making electoral decisions.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ahmadu cautioned voters to differentiate between campaign rhetoric and tangible achievements. He warned against politicians who make extravagant promises, urging citizens to remain vigilant and skeptical of those who promise unrealistic outcomes just to gain power.
Ahmadu encouraged Nigerians to compare the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration with previous governments to assess its performance. He highlighted the progress made in critical sectors during Tinubu’s three years in office, despite facing national challenges.
He acknowledged the public’s economic concerns but asserted that the administration’s policies aim to address underlying issues rather than provide superficial solutions. Ahmadu asked for patience from the populace, stating that the government’s actions are intended to benefit all Nigerians, not to cause hardship.
The minister pointed out the administration’s success in delivering critical infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, claiming it surpassed previous governments’ efforts since independence. He also mentioned the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a significant initiative supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial aid for higher education.
Ahmadu urged the electorate to focus on actual achievements rather than promises when deciding whom to support in 2027, reiterating that a demonstrable record of delivery is more valuable than mere campaign rhetoric.
