Abuja: The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called on Muslim faithful to maintain the virtues of discipline, compassion, unity, and generosity that were cultivated during Ramadan. This appeal was made by the Chairman/CEO of NAHCON, Amb. Ismail Abba, as he extended his felicitations to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, marking the end of the holy month.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Amb. Ismail Abba, on behalf of the Board, Management, and staff of NAHCON, expressed warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and globally during the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations. He highlighted that Ramadan was a period characterized by deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, patience, and devotion to Allah (SWT). As the celebrations are underway, he urged Muslims to continue embodying the virtues nurtured during the holy month.
Amb. Abba offered prayers for Allah (SWT) to accept the fasting, prayers, and acts of charity performed during Ramadan, and for peace, unity, and prosperity to prevail in the nation. He also reassured prospective pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj of the commission’s commitment to improving service quality in areas such as accommodation, feeding, medical care, and transportation.
The NAHCON Chairman emphasized the commission’s dedication to enforcing international best practices, upholding accountability, and maintaining clear timelines to ensure the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of pilgrims. He acknowledged the dedication and cooperation of NAHCON staff, stakeholders, and partners in preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.
Amb. Abba announced the successful issuance of all visas in line with the established timeline and indicated that the pre-arrival stage is set to begin on 1st Shawwal, 1447 AH. He concluded by congratulating the Muslim community and praying for continued opportunities to celebrate Eid in peace, good health, and prosperity.
